Emily joined Standard Chartered Bank in 2023 with over 10 years of experience in user experience, human-centred design, innovation consulting, corporate venture building, and big tech.
She started her journey in AI at the intersection of human-computer interaction and natural language processing, researching empathy and emotional intelligence in virtual agents.
She is now Head of Human-Centered AI and Innovation in Group Strategy and Talent (HR, CABM, CRES, SCM) at Standard Chartered combining her knowledge in innovation, AI, and UX to advocate for and drive adoption of responsible AI usage in HR.
Emily celebrates collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, drives crucial conversations about the future of AI and its impact on the workforce, and inspires stakeholders toward an informed, conscientious, and realistic optimism on the adoption of vanguard tech like GenAI/AI.
A keen advocate for using innovation responsibly, Emily is also a member of the Group Responsible AI Council and Review Forums, Data Ethics Working Group, and Group GenAI Task Force. She aspires to uplift female representation and inclusion in the fields of AI and tech.
Outside of work, she acts as an AI advisory member to HR leaders as part of the “Agents of Change” initiative at the Centre for Synchronous Leadership.
